This tour starts with Helsinki 101, a basic city walk, to cover all the essentials in the older part of Helsinki including the main cathedrals, Senate Square and basic timeline of Finnish and Helsinki history.
Then we grab a quick lunch in the Market Square and then head to Suomenlinna for a walking tour of Helsinki’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When we return to the mainland, we then do a walk-through Helsinki’s architectural history ending in the Oodi Library and grab a coffee and snack.
To round off the day, we then head to the Kallio neighbourhood and do a walk-through Helsinki’s more modern history and discuss worker’s rights, universal suffrage, Prohibition, public saunas and end the day near Sörnäinen metro station.
